Poetry by the Iguana, and Other Stories

Many people have unexpected gifts, and the Iguana surprised everyone by telling his view of the galaxy in poetry. Everyone but me, that is. I've always known he speaks in lyrics!

Hi! Zantippy Skiphop here! I tell the tales of my adventures in the galaxy with my friends! Iguana likes to stay in his Earth swamp, so his book got written while I was trapped in an extraterrestrial jail. Don't worry, I escaped, so we are all about to tell you lots more stories!
Love,
Zantippy

Still on the Planet!

Hi! It's been a while since I lasted posted, and I just wanted to tell you that hopefully I'll be posting again soon! I've had some trouble with migraines, and when I feel good, I've been scrambling to get stuff done around home, be with critters, write some articles, beta-read a friend's book, and work on my own fiction. Meanwhile you can see a few new articles at Active Astronomy, about the Mars rover, Curiosity, and at Astronomy Wise, which is a monthly zine. My articles at Astronomy Wise are more social-oriented than detailed science :) See you soon and thanks for dropping by!

  2. Migraines...God have mercy on you. I get tension headaches and wish I could just fall into a nice, dark, deep, quiet hole in the ground and sleep for a century. I hear tension headaches are nothing compared to migraines!

    1. Oh man, Brandi, what do you take for tension headaches? The doctor gave me a med that is for them for some reason, something with a barbituate that knocked me out - I think I may have said something before, but don't remember since I've been gone so long! - do you take something better than that? And now she won't give me anything else. Fortunately my new insurance through the PCIP lets me go to specialists without a referral yay :D so may go to a neurologist - my migraines tend to take a kind of seizurey-swing (not like epilepsy, not sure how to describe it).

  3. Hello Zantippy! I used to suffer from migraines and learned how to control it with eating the right foods! No sugars on empty stomach (processed or natural) and eating good proteins and small meals frequently. I suffered terribly for years as a child and through trial and error, I as a child, not the doctors figured out foods are the cure. Hope you get better and we look forward to following your blog!

    1. Hi! Yeah, food definitely has an influence - with mine, it is cheese, and also I avoid anything with milk, but it is more that they aggravate something already there. Also meat isn't my friend. Sugar has influenced mine not so much from eating it, but in that I'm pretty hypoglycemic, so burning through so much blood sugar so fast uses up a ton of water, which then leads me to get dehydrated, which then leads towards a migraine. But hormones are at the base of mine, and they have been pretty unstable lately so I'm hoping to deal with it until they work themselves out, which they will...eventually lol. Thanks! I'm glad yours are so much better, I hate seeing kids get them!
